The Boston Globe: Stories You Take With You

The Boston Globe: Stories You Take With You

January 8, 2013

The Boston Globe has been the daily newspaper of Boston, Mass. for 139 years. But with the rise of smartphones, tablets, and other easy to pocket electronic devices, the print publication — like many others around the country — had started to see its readership numbers decline. In collaboration with Filament Group and Upstatement, two Boston-based design firms, The Boston Globe set out to change things. Last year they became one of the first large companies to launch a web-print version of their publication optimized for viewing on a whole range of devices from iPhone to Nook. Now, The Boston Globe's tagline "Stories you take with you..." is truer than ever. Studio B Films had the pleasure of getting the inside scoop, thanks to Adobe who commissioned the project.
