For the third year in a row, Studio B Films partnered with Opts Idea’s agency to create the latest video for LPL Financial’s Focus 2014 event in San Diego. The goal was to kick off the first day with a video which would evoke a spirit of unity and teamwork among those attending the conference, and LPL Financial’s employees. Starring our very own Jason Armitage as the voice over talent, the video was by all accounts, a huge success and kicked off a wonderful three-day event.
Last month, Studio B Films finished producing our third collaboration with Pure Storage. They wanted to capture that same comedic approach which had made our previous work together so successful, but do it using a new and exciting idea. We needed to keep the energy of our past projects, all the while ensuring we promoted Pure Storage as a premium flash drive provider. After much exploration, we landed on a contemporary approach which tied in seamlessly with Pure Storage’s brand. Our main inspiration came from the ‘Autotune the News’ remix phenomenon currently spreading on Youtube. The viral “Ain’t Nobody Got…READ MORE
Adobe brought us in to make a stinger video to help kick-off the Creative Cloud 2014 event in New York. They had commissioned some incredible artists to contribute artwork that, when assembled into a mosaic, reveals the shape of their CC logo. This collaborative piece became a framework within which we showcased some of the killer new features in Creative Cloud. Inspired by the mosaic structure, our edit became a fast-paced, split-screen montage with glimpses of amazing art and artists doing great work. We finished the piece with an assembly of the final logo mosaic which transitions to an electrifying…READ MORE

But how do you create a viral video? How can you be sure that what you produce is going to turn into increased brand awareness? To know more, you’ll have to know more about viral video marketing practices….READ MORE
When considering what equipment to use to create the highest quality content, we often think bigger is better. However, this is becoming a common misconception, as highlighted by our Rentals Manager and Crew Services Coordinator Dan Williams in the Rentals Blog last month. Here in the production department, we’re less focused on the equipment, but we do think it’s key to be up to date on the latest developments. Check out an excerpt from Dan’s post below — If there’s one thing to gather from the video products announced at the Consumer Electronics Show last week, it’s that “4k” is…READ MORE
HBO’s new show, Looking, features the San Francisco Bay Area as a major supporting character, highlighting Oakland, the City, and even the USS Hornet. Unlike most shows set in the Bay Area, Looking is actually shot on location, (see Berkeley-based, Parenthood, shot in Southern California). The show does a great job at capturing over 40 locations in the Bay, showcasing some of the grittier areas and straying away from the typical postcard portrayal of the area, according to the East Bay Times. Here at Studio B Films, we have been shooting in the Bay Area for over 20 years, and continue to…READ MORE
